Camping Rules

Canoeing, Tubing and Kayaking times vary, depending on the float you are taking. Your choice of 2-6 hours or even overnight trips are available, depending on the experience level of your group. All river trips begin with onhand, riverside instructions, trip briefing and river maps.
 
We offer the longest tubing float on the upper James River. Depending on the water level normally 2-4 hours, you want to get all the fun this float has to offer. River trips won’t be complete without taking a camera. Make sure it is water proof. You don’t want to miss that special picture of your best friend or your dad trying to catch a fish with his bare hands, or your buddy making off with the cooler full of food.

RESERVATIONS & FULL DEPOSIT REQUIRED AT TIME OF RESERVATIONS, SO PLEASE CALL AHEAD.

We offer a wide selection of live bait, tackle, waterproof cameras, water toys, suncreen, sun glasses and much more. We have FREE & SECURE PARKING FOR ALL OF OUR GUESTS. Don’t know what to do with those car keys? We will secure them for you and have them at riverside when you arrive at our private take out.

Things to remember:

• Be on time
• Tennis or river shoes required!
• No glass containers or styrofoam coolers
• Children must be at least 6 years old to Tube and Raft
• Children must by 10 year old to canoe & kayak
• No children under 6 years of age
• NO PETS (most pets are not comfortable around water and will feel safer at home.)
• Bring an extra set of clothes to change into after your float. Changing rooms and hot showers are available.
• It's the Law! Consumption of alcohol in public is strictly prohibited and heavily enforced. Don't risk the possibility of arrest and destroying a perfect day for you and your group!
• Littering in Virginia is illegal so help keep our river green and clean - if you take it on the river, bring it back from the river with you.

At the end of the day take a shower -- our dressing facilities are located inside for your privacy. You have a choice of staying at one of our riverside campsites located on the banks of the James River or visit RIVERTOWN’S best kept secrets, quaint restaurants, a wide variety of specialty shops, and an abundance of history, all within walking distance of our facilities. There is also a selection of Bed & Breakfasts in the immediate area.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Total amount of rental fee is required with reservation. Refunds are available with a one week notice of cancellation. "NO SHOW" will forfeit their payment. Reservations and full payment can be made with cash, check, Travelers cheque, VISA OR Master Card, Discover

We reserve the right to cancel any trips if weather or water conditions are hazardous. We recommend that you call for information on the condition of the river before your trip. If we cancel, you receive a full refund or may reschedule without penalty.
