- The Levee Walk: A walking path put in by the Town to walk up and down the James River. Path located atop the levee. Enter from
Harrison Street, behind Canal Basin Square. Handicapped access off Bird Street, just past the Library.
- James River Canal Basin Square: Outdoor Transportation History
park depicting the rich history of batteaux and packet boat travel which occurred in the during the peak of travel through America's canals.
The park is located at the original site of the James River and Kanawha Canal Basin on Main Street across from the Scottsville Museum.
- Dorrier Park: South end of Page Street across from the Community Center. Tennis Courts, Outdoor Basketball Court, Soccer Field,
Children's Playground, Picnic Pavilion, Softball and Baseball Fields. Public Restrooms.

- Scharer's Natural Area and Walking Trail: Located 9.5 miles East of Scottsville. Rt. 6 East to Rt. 620 West 3 miles, Right on
637. About a mile on the Left. Look for the large slate sign. For more information contact the Rivanna Conservation Society.
- The Hardware Wildlife Management Area: More than 500 acres of protected wildlife preserve. Open to the public.
- Totier Creek Park: Totier Creek Road (Rt. 845) off James River Road (Rt. 726). Fishing, picnicking.
- Walnut Creek Park: Route 631. Swimming, canoe rentals, handicapped fishing access, boat launch, picnic shelter, mountain bike
trails. Fee. Memorial Day to Labor Day.
- Pine Knot: P.O. Box 213, Keene 22946. Theodore and Edith Roosevelt's family retreat. Operated by the Theodore Roosevelt Association.
